Dear Parents

 

“Charity begins at home.

Sanitation and hygiene starts with you and me.”

 

It is our foremost responsibility to inculcate in our children the practice to maintain hygiene and cleanliness around them. Keeping this vision in mind, we have undertaken the initiative –‘The Cleanliness Drive’ in school.

 

We have designed numerous activities to engage the students physically, mentally and emotionally attempting to inculcate in them, habits which gradually become part of their character. 

 

Some of the activities are as follows:

 

• USE OF BLUE AND GREEN DUSTBINS: Students will be explained the difference in use. They would be encouraged to use them in school. All the biodegradable / compostable material would be collected in green bins and plastic recyclable material will be collected in blue bins.

 

• USE OF COMPOST PIT IN SCHOOL: Students will be made a part of this endeavour by being motivated to collect dry leaves, garden clippings, shredded paper etc. regularly. They would be given an exposure in using a compost pit to convert these biodegradable wastes into organic manure which would then be used in school.

 

• SHRAMDAAN: Students are regularly involved in keeping the school premises litter free and clean .They are assigned brooming duties in their classrooms everyday.

All students have been instructed to carry a small cloth duster in their bags to keep their classrooms clean.

 

Realization of these objectives can be possible only if their worth is reinforced by you at home. Please encourage your ward to plant a sapling on his birthday every year. Let us be role models for the students and make this endeavor a success.
