DPS Rohini joins ‘Swachhata Hi Sewa’

Dear Parents,

It has been rightly said, ‘Cleanliness and order are not matters of instinct, they are matters of education and like most great things, we all need to cultivate a taste for them.’

Mission Swacch Bharat aspires to realize Gandhiji’s dream of a clean India. An inspiration to billions across generations and borders, Mahatma Gandhi recognized that our attitude towards cleanliness also reflects our attitude towards society. Inspired by his noble thoughts and a faith in the spirit of the countrymen, our honourable Prime Minister, Shri NarendraModi has initiated a mammoth cleanliness drive.

The Prime Minister’s campaign of ‘Swachhata Hi Sewa’ aims to get people to rediscover their roots and bring in some sweeping changes. In order to accomplish this vision of ‘Clean India’, the Prime Minister has personally written to the Chairman of DPS Society Shri V.K Shunglu (letter attached). It is indeed an honour that the Delhi Public Schools have been made a part of this crusade. To join this great cause, we at DPS, Rohini, have planned to undertake various projects. The first project that we have planned is an extensive cleanliness drive in our neighbourhood that will include sensitizing the residents of the area regarding the importance of maintaining cleaner surroundings and then setting an example by cleaning areas around the school. The sensitizing campaign will begin with a group of students and teachers on 27 September’17 and continue all through the month of October and thereafter. The school will organize an actual cleaning drive of the school’s surroundings in mid-October.

We request you to lend your whole-hearted support in this endeavour of ours and dedicate some time for the cause of a Swachh Bharat. If you wish to volunteer for this drive, please give your consent by   e-mail (write ‘My consent’ in the subject line). Further, if you wish to give consent for your child to be an active participant in this drive, kindly do mention the same in the e-mail (write ‘Me & My child of Class____’ in the subject line)

To quote Gandhiji, ‘Let us be the change that we want to see in the world.’ Let us pay a befitting tribute to the Father of our Nation on his birth anniversary this year.
