INTERNATIONAL ENGLISH OLYMPIAD
The International English Olympiad was organized at Delhi Public
School Rohini on Thursday, 11 October 2018 for the Classes V-X. A total of
525 children had enrolled out of which 498 children appeared for the
Olympiad.

Pre –Regional
Mathematics Olympiad (PRMO) -2018 is the first step in the selection of the
Indian Team for the International Olympiad. PRMO was organized by Mathematics
Teacher’s Association (India) MTA(I) on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Kendriya Vidyalaya Delhi Cantt for Classes VIII – XII.

Examination 2017-18 (Level II)
DPS Society organizes
DPS Science & Mathematics Talent Examination in collaboration with
Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) exclusively for Class IX Students of all
the DPS. Level II Examination (2017-18) was held on Sunday, 17 December,
2017.

NIE Summer Training Programme
Soumya Goel Jain of class XI D had
qualified for the Times NIE Summer Training Programme 2018-19.The training
was held from 21 May – 29 May 2018.The programme gave her an opportunity to
experience the making of the newspaper at the world class TOI Press.
Moreover, she also got a chance to interact with accomplished editors and
reporters of The Times of India – Student Edition to get a hands on
experience in journalism.

SCIENCE TALENT SEARCH EXAMINATION (JSTSE) – 2018
JSTSE is conducted by
the Science Branch of Department of Education, Delhi every year usually in
the month of January, for the students of class IX. Students who have scored
at least 65% in VIII are eligible for this test. The examination consists of
two papers:-
General knowledge – 50
questions – 50 minutes
General Science and
Mathematics – 150 questions – 150 minutes
Every year a total of
150 students receive JSTSE scholarship across Delhi & NCR.
This year the
examination was held on Sunday, 28th January 2018. The venue was Shaheed
Captain Anuj Nayyar Government School, Block B2, Janakpuri,
New Delhi-110058. The total number of students that enrolled from our school was
144 while 85 students appeared for the examination.

The National level of
VVM was held on 12-13 May 2018 at the DAE Convention Centre, Bhabha Atomic
Research Centre, Mumbai. Moh Bhargava made us proud
by winning the title of ‘The Himalayan’, which is given to top three rankers
of each class. There were 46 Students from all over India and 2 from each
state were shortlisted for the same.
The exam was held at
various levels over two days. There was an ice breaking activity where the
children were divided into groups of four. There were events/evaluations to
test the students leadership qualities, like
puzzling, gaming, and some surprise events.
On day 2 experiments were given from
Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Maths.
The exam was conducted
at four levels.

TALENT TEST 2018
XXXIV Manavsthali Maths Talent Test-2018 was organised by Manavsthali School on 20.01.18. Out of the 29 students who participated
from our school 25 students figure in the Merit list. Mayank Goel of class VII and Samyak
Jain of class VIII won the Gold Medal, 8 students won the Silver Medal, 8
students bagged the Bronze Medal and 6 students received Certificates of
Merit.

INOI-2018 (Indian National Olympiad in Informatics)
The Indian National
Olympiad in Informatics, 2018 (INOI-2018) took place on Sunday,
7 January 2018. Thirty one students from all over India have qualified
for the International Olympiad in Informatics Training Camp, 2018
(IOITC-2018). The purpose of the camp is to select the Indian team for the
International Olympiad in Informatics 2018 (IOI-2018). The camp will be held
in the month of May.

84.10% and were placed at 2nd position. Adit
Gupta bagged State Rank 1 in the Competition at Class V level with 95%. A group

AWARD OF SCHOLARSHIP
UNDER THE GIRL CHILD SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME (2017-18)
Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) had
launched Girl Child Scholarship Scheme (GCSS) for the year 2017- 18.Under
GCSS, a scholarship of Rs. 5,000/- each is awarded
to 300 needy girl students in India who are academically inclined and belong
to the financially weaker section of the society. Anu
Kumari of Class VII was the recommended candidate
from DPS Rohini for the GCSS on the basis of her academic performance in the
previous class. Anu is a proud recipient of the
scholarship among the 300 candidates selected by the SOF out of 5000
candidates nominated from across India.

2017)
‘Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan’-a National Talent Search
Examination is conducted by Vigyan Prasar in
association with NCERT for students from classes VI to XI.
The
students used their own electronic device and internet connection where the
VVM App was installed and was brought to school on the scheduled dates.
Total
185 students enrolled for the exam. The exam was conducted in school which
was geo-taggaed on 26 November and 5 December 2017
in Phase-1 and Phase-2 respectively.
Phase-2
was a re-conduct of the exam for those who were unsuccessful in submitting
the online exam in Phase-1 due to problem in the App.
In Phase-1, 127 students appeared for the exam
out of which 58 students could submit successfully. Phase-2 had 127 students
in the list provided by VVM out of which 67 students appeared for the exam.

FIT 1 & 2 (German) Exam-Report
Goethe Institute MMB organises FIT 1 & 2 (German) exams for
school students learning German. More than 100 schools participate in these
exams. This year FIT-1 exam was conducted in MMB on 12 July 2017. 12 Students
of Class VIII from our school invoked the exam. Anureet
Kaur (FIT 1) and Anubhav Taneja (FIT 2) were amongst top 20 students of
Delhi. They have been offered to attend a fully paid youth camp in India.
Details are awaited.
FIT-2 exam was held on 13 Aug 2017. 17 students took the exam
and four students were declared the school toppers, all with 90%. The
students are Manan Talwar, Vanshika Goel, Shrishti Gupta and Shreya
Chatterji. These students have been offered a fully
paid trip to Kingdom of Dreams.

The Hindu in association with Vidyartha organized a Talent Hunt to test the analytical
and logical reasoning of the students of Classes VI, VII, VIII and IX on 4
October 2017.The test was to help students understand their Logical
Reasoning, Scientific and Mathematical aptitude.

Pre-Regional
Mathematics Olympiad (PRMO) -2017 is the first step in the selection of the Indian Team for
the International Olympiad (IMO -2018). PRMO was organized by The Indian Association
of Physics Teachers (IAPT) on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Kendriya
Vidyalaya Rohini, Sector 3 for classes VIII-XI. 17 out of 45
Students qualified PRMO and will appear for RMO on October 8, 2017. The

Talent Search Examination 2017
Mehul
Arora (W-12233) and Kunal Jain (W-05113) of Class XI (2017-18) have
successfully qualified the Final Stage of National Talent Search Examination
2017 held on Sunday, 14 May 2017. They will now be eligible for the award of
the scholarship. The scholarship comprises of an award of Rs.1250 per month
for class XI and XII and Rs.2000/- per month for students studying under
graduate and above.

‘Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan’-a National
Talent Search Examination is conducted by Vigyan Prasar
in association with NCERT for students from classes VI to XI. The following
students cleared level 1 and level 2 (Prathama and Dwitiya).They
attended the state level camp organized at Maharaja Agrasen Institute of
Technology, Sector 22, Delhi on 19 Feb, 2017. A certificate and memento was
awarded to them. The camp was attended by 123 students from different schools
in Delhi.
Ahilaan Saxena of VI-D bagged the Second Position
at the State level camp and has been selected to attend the National Level
Camp. He was awarded a cash prize of INR 3000, a memento and a certificate.

Competition 2017
Our students from Classes V, VIII, XI appeared for 34th
ARYABHATTA INTER-SCHOOL MATHEMATICS COMPETITION 2017 organised by Summer
Fields School, Kailash Colony on 28th January, 2017. 16 students from Class
V, 13 students from
Class VIII and 13 students from Class XI appeared for the exam.
A group of 10 students of Class V scored an average of 52.2 and were placed
at
6th position while Class XI group scored an average of 42.2. They were also
placed at the 6th position.
ARPIT VARAHMIHIR of Class VIII scored 75 marks. He would be awarded a

Science & Mathematics Talent Examination 2016-17 (Level II)
DPS Society
organizes DPS Science & Mathematics Talent Examination in collaboration
with Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) exclusively for Class IX students of
all the DPS. The Level II Examination (2016-17) was held on Sunday, 11
December, 2016.
Seventeen students
from our school qualified for this level (at DPS, Dwarka) and have been
awarded Certificates of Merit.

Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM)
Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) is a national
program for educating and popularizing science among school students of VI to
XI standards. VVM also endeavours to identify the bright minds among the
student community, who are keen on subjects related to science.
The VVM program is jointly conducted by NCERT, VIBHA and VIGYAN PRASAR. The
first and second level screening (State Level Screening) was done through
written examination for all students at each state level in the country. 190
students of our school registered for the exam. The first two levels
consisted of two papers. Both the levels were held on Sunday, 20 November,
2016 with a 30-minute break in between. The first paper was Prathama
(Level I) and second was Dwitiya (Level II)

National Creativity Olympiad, Level
I organized by EDU Excellence was held on Thursday, 6 October 2016.
360 students from Classes VI to XI appeared for the same. 13 students
qualified for Level II exam. Level II was held on Saturday, 10 December
2016 at Meera Model School, Janakpuri.
Top two students (from each class) were eligible to appear for Level II.

Korea - India Friendship Essay Competition 2016
The All India 4th Korea- India friendship essay writing
competition was conducted by the Korean Cultural Centre, India, Embassy of
the Republic of Korea. It was a nationwide essay competition conducted in
both Junior and Senior categories. Students were required to send their
entries online to the Korean Embassy.
Ashutosh Banerjee of class IX-C won the All India 2nd prize in
this competition. He received a cash award of Rs.
10,000, a merit certificate and a trophy at the prize distribution ceremony
held at Korean Cultural Centre in New Delhi on 22 September 2016.

is conducted every year by Doon Public School, Paschim Vihar, New Delhi for students of classes V to IX

Bhaskara Award Maths Competition 2016 was

Youth Camp at Jim Corbett Park for FIT Toppers
FIT in Deutsch` examination are conducted every year by GIMMB.
Four students of our school- Anjani Miglani, Tanvi Lakra, Simran Malhotra and Pritika
Sabharwal of class XI were among the top 11 of
FIT in Deutsch 2 , 2015 and got a chance to attend an all-expenses
paid youth camp at Jim Corbett National park, from 13th April
2016 to 17th April 2016. The camp saw the participation of the top 11
students of the FIT in Deutsch 2 examination and the top 18 students of the
Fit in Deutsch 1 examination.
The students were exposed to various activities like adventure sports and
jungle safari. Activity based German classes were held and the students also
got opportunities to participate in various team building events.
The camp concluded on positive note with the students performing various acts
like Karoke and dance performances as a part of the
valedictory function.

NASA AMES Space Settlement Design Competition 2016
NASA organizes an
annual space settlement design competition called NASA AMES SSC. This year
the competition received 996 entries from 4,017 students and 23 countries.
The National Space Society (NSS) has invited all contest winners to attend
the NSS 36rd annual International Space Development Conference (ISDC) in St.
Louis, USA next year.
Sayan Chaudhry (12 A) participated in the competition and
received an Honorable Mention in the Grade 11
category for his Komorebi Space Settlement design.

first round of KVPY exam was held in the month of November 2015. Three

Asian Regional Space Settlement Design Competition (ARSSDC)
Asian Regional
Space Settlement Design Competition (ARSSDC) is a prestigious space
settlement design competition organized by National Space Society and Atlantis
Research. In the first stage, at all India school level, all participating
teams had to submit a 40 page proposal for a space settlement to be placed
the asteroid belt.

cleared the first stage of the competition and qualified for theAsian finals held in Manesar from 29 January 2016 to 1
February 2016. In the second stage, 25 qualifying teams were merged into 5
companies of 5 teams each. Our team was grouped with Delhi Public School, RK
Puram and teams from Kolkata, Pakistan and China to form Vulture Aviation.
